Ben Crowned L’Oreal Style & Colour Trophy Winner

We’re so excited to announce that our very own Ben Semple has been named the 2024 Australia and New Zealand Style & Colour Trophy winner! This incredible achievement has secured Ben’s place as the ANZ representative in the GLOBAL finale; a monumental milestone in his career and a proud moment for all of us at Circles.

The Journey

Ben’s path to victory is a story of perseverance, creativity, and passion. After being selected as one of the eight finalists, he travelled to Melbourne to compete live for the title. The L’Oréal Professionnel Style & Colour Trophy is one of the most esteemed competitions in the hair industry, drawing over 100,000 global entries from around 40 countries each year.

In his 5th year of entering, Ben’s determination and talent finally earned him the top spot. His winning look, inspired by nature, perfectly embodied the 2024 Utopia theme, featuring vibrant metallic colours and a futuristic vibe.

A Night of Celebration in Melbourne

The winners were announced at a glamorous event at Melbourne’s CIEL The Venue on August 19, 2024. With over 300 guests, live entertainment, and festivities that continued until 1 a.m., L’Oréal Professionnel celebrated the creativity and talent of the industry’s finest. The national judges, a panel of industry experts, had the difficult task of selecting the ultimate winners from a pool of extraordinary talent.

Ben’s win was particularly special, as it marks a significant achievement in a career that began when he joined Circles as an apprentice in early 2013. His eye for trends, transformations, and avant-garde styles has not only won him numerous accolades but also the admiration of clients and all of the team here.

What’s Next?

Ben’s journey continues as he advances to the global finale, where his Utopia-themed look will be judged alongside other national winners from around the globe. The top six finalists will then compete for the international title in Paris, France.
