Gracie’s blonde weft transformation

Our client Gracie is hyper aware of trend thanks to her status as one of Perth’s social media queens. Her followers expect her to be an early adopter and style leader so our objective with all of her transformations is to rework appealing trends to work in with her lifestyle and personal taste. She relies on us as her salon to provide guidance and consultation around her next look and trusts us with her transformations having built up a strong relationship.  As a new mum she hasn’t been into the salon as frequently as normal, a common issue for our busy Circles clients, so her colour was extremely grown out and ready for a refresh. She has also been wearing clip in extensions to her events and for photography but was looking for something with great longevity to better suit her busy lifestyle, which would still give a natural finish.

We decided to take Gracie back to a true blonde, however we wanted to move away from a subtle balayage and play with something more dramatic, selecting a dreamy baby blonde to lighten up the face and give her an amazing glow. Gracie has quite fine hair so extensions for her are an essential, but fortunately the hair is in excellent health, thanks to our tailored product recommendations, so we were able to focus on the aesthetic change of adding length and thickness and changing colour.

To achieve this look we started by selecting the #60 Platinum Blonde wefts to achieve the desired shade. I love to work with L’Oreal Professional Smartbond as it is so strengthening to the hair which is crucial when working with extensions. I then worked to seamlessly integrate 5 rows of Showpony Wefts in the 20 Inch length to provide the thickest yet most natural result. These were first prepped with L’Oreal Platinium + 30 vol + Majimeche + 20 vol every 2nd foil on her ends, toning with Richesse 8 + 8,13 + 9 vol for an ultra-subtle root blend. Once these were sewn in, I was able to finish with Gracie’s trademark tumbling curls. With so much time in front of the camera her hair must always be looking the best and I am so proud of the result!
