Why Circles for extensions

We make the hair, so we can hold it in stock

Most salons order extension hair in after you have committed. We make ours, so for most clients the answer is your next available appointment.

3 methodsTape, weft and micro link, matched to your hair
Colour matchCustom-coloured to your exact shade by the colourists behind our L’Oréal Trophy wins

Most extensions that look like extensions failed at one of two steps: the hair was not coloured to match, or it was never cut into the natural hair. Circles does both as standard, and extra-long lengths or uncommon shades are made for you rather than substituted.

The right method depends on your hair, not on what a salon happens to stock. Fine hair that shows scalp needs a different answer from thick hair that wants length. Every extensions journey starts with a consultation, redeemable against your service or products, and you leave with a method recommendation, a colour match and a quote texted to you.

What makes us different

Our own hair, on our own shelves

This is the part most salons cannot offer, and it is the reason people who have had extensions elsewhere tend to stay with us.

We manufacture it ourselves

The hair is made to our own specification rather than bought in from whatever a wholesaler is carrying that month. We set the quality, the weft construction and the weight, and it does not change between one set and the next, so your maintenance hair matches the hair you already have.

Standard lengths and common shades, always in stock

We hold the range on hand at the salon. For most clients that means no ordering, no waiting on a shipment, and no holding your appointment open until stock lands. Your set can be fitted in the appointment you book.

Extra-long lengths and uncommon shades, made to order

Longer than our standard range, or a colour nobody stocks? Because we manufacture the hair ourselves we can have it made for you rather than telling you it is not available. That one does take time, and we will give you a real timeframe at your consultation rather than after you have paid.

Methods

Three ways to add length and thickness

Every set at Circles is custom-coloured to your shade and cut into your own hair after fitting: that is what makes the difference between extensions people notice and extensions people just think is your hair. Method pricing is confirmed at your consultation, and the consultation fee comes off your service.

Tape Extensions

Best for: Fast length and volume, and the most comfortable option for most hair types.

Lightweight wefts of hair are sandwiched around thin sections of your own hair with a medical-grade adhesive. They sit flat, they are quick to fit, and they are the easiest method to live with day to day. Moved up every 6–8 weeks and re-taped, the same hair keeps going for months.

Weft Extensions

Best for: Maximum thickness and length with the fewest attachment points on your own hair.

Rows of hair are sewn into a discreet braided or beaded base. Because the weight is spread along a row rather than concentrated on individual strands, weft is the method that delivers real thickness with the least stress per strand. It is also the fastest to move up once it is in.

Choosing a method

Tape vs weft vs micro link

The honest comparison. Find the row that matches your hair and what you want from it.

Method Best for Attachment Fitting time Move-up Price
Tape Most hair types; fast length and volume Adhesive tabs, no heat 1–2 hrs 6–8 weeks On consultation
Weft Maximum thickness, thicker hair Sewn to a braid or bead row 2–4 hrs 8–10 weeks On consultation
Micro link Natural movement, no glue or heat Individual beads 2–3 hrs 8–10 weeks On consultation

All methods use custom-coloured hair, cut and blended into your own hair in salon. It starts with a consultation, redeemable against your service or products. See the full price list.

From consultation to fitting

How getting extensions at Circles actually works

Extensions are the biggest-ticket service we do, so nothing is guessed and nothing is quoted off a chart.

01

Consultation & colour match

We assess your density, scalp, breakage and colour history, talk through the length and thickness you want, and recommend the method that suits your hair, not the most expensive one. Your shade is matched in the same appointment, because packet colour almost never matches and this step is why good extensions are invisible.

02

Your quote, by text

Hair, fitting and the ongoing maintenance cycle, texted to you before you commit, and your consultation fee comes off it. If your shade and length are in stock, which they usually are, we book the fitting there and then.

03

Fitting

1–4 hours depending on method. You will be comfortable. Tell your stylist immediately if any section feels tight.

04

Cut & blend

The single most important step. Extension hair is cut into your own hair so the two read as one head of hair from every angle.

05

Aftercare & move-up

Brush, wash and sleep routine, the right products, and your maintenance appointment booked before you leave.

I had the delight of having my hair done by Montana recently, she took my inspo and created an outcome I was absolutely over the moon about and even better than I imagined! Looking forward to my next appointment already! 💖

I had to wait a little for my booked appointment, but the end result was amazing. I felt the team was under the pump and times it did feel I was passed around during my wash, with 3 seperate people being involved. However I have booked again and my colour looks fantastic.

I have really frizzy hair and I did the Qiqi treatment, which was done by the amazing Montana! Shout out to Carissa as well, you both are so amazing and great at what you do! Thank you for making my hair so shiny, sleek and frizz free

Had an amazing first experience. Have never been so relaxed in my whole life than when getting a head massage during my treatment(I can’t remember the name of the girl who did this but she was brilliant!!) Caitlin was amazing at explaining what she was doing and what she had in mind for my hair as I came with no idea what I wanted. She recommended some great products after I told her about what my struggles have been with my hair

Before you book

Hair extension questions, answered honestly

How much do hair extensions cost in Perth?

Tape, weft and micro link extensions are priced on consultation, because the cost depends on how many grams of hair you need, the length you want and how many rows or strands it takes to blend properly. It starts with a consultation, redeemable against your service or products. Your quote is texted to you covering the hair, the fitting and the maintenance cycle, so there are no surprises.

Will extensions damage my natural hair?

Badly fitted extensions damage hair. Correctly fitted extensions, maintained on schedule and removed properly, do not. The three things that matter are weight (never more than your hair can carry), placement (away from the hairline and the pressure points) and maintenance timing (moving them before the natural hair grows out too far). We assess your hair density and scalp condition at consultation and will tell you honestly if extensions are not right for your hair, or if a different method is safer for you.

Will people be able to tell I’m wearing extensions?

Not if they are custom-coloured and cut in. Extension hair that comes straight out of a packet almost never matches your hair exactly, which is why we colour the hair to your shade and then cut and blend it into your own after fitting.

How long do hair extensions last?

The hair itself lasts 6–12 months with correct care, and can usually be re-used through several maintenance appointments. The fitting needs moving up every 6–10 weeks depending on the method and how fast your hair grows: tape is at the shorter end, weft and micro links at the longer end.

How long does the fitting take?

Tape extensions take 1–2 hours. Micro links take 2–3 hours depending on strand count. A full weft install takes 2–4 hours. Add extra time if the hair needs colouring to match your shade. We will book that in for you and tell you the total when we quote.

Which extension method is right for me?

Short version: tape for fast length and volume on most hair types; weft for maximum thickness with the fewest attachment points; micro link for a glue-free, heat-free application. The comparison table on this page breaks it down properly, and your consultation will confirm it against your actual hair.

Can I still swim, exercise and tie my hair up?

Yes to all three. Rinse with fresh water after the ocean or the pool, dry the attachment points properly rather than leaving them damp, brush with a proper extension brush from the ends up, and sleep with hair loosely tied or plaited. We give you the full aftercare routine and the products at your fitting.

How soon can I actually have them fitted?

Usually as soon as we can fit you in, because we make our own extension hair and stock every standard length and the shades most people ask for rather than ordering per client. That is the main practical difference between us and most salons, where the hair is ordered after you commit and you wait for it to arrive. Extra-long lengths and uncommon shades are made to order: that does take time, and we will give you a real date at your consultation.

What happens at the consultation?

We look at your hair density, scalp, breakage and colour history, talk through the length and thickness you want, match the hair to your shade, recommend the method that suits your hair rather than the one with the biggest margin, and text you a quote for the hair, the fitting and the ongoing maintenance. The consultation fee comes straight off your service or products.
