Why Circles for colour

Colour is what we are known for

The work is judged at national level, and the same standard goes on your hair on a Tuesday afternoon.

AwardsHome to multiple L’Oréal Style & Colour Trophy winners and finalists
AftercareA home-care plan built so the colour still looks right long after you leave
Any hairFine, coarse, curly, grey, previously boxed and previously ruined

What that means for you: the colourist doing your hair has been trained, assessed and mentored inside a salon that competes nationally. Every colour service includes a proper consultation and a complimentary dry-off, so nothing about the price or the plan is decided after the fact.

Your colourist will also recommend the bond or finishing treatment your hair needs on the day, and a blow dry and style if you want to walk out finished. Both are added to your service rather than built into the price. If what you are asking for is not safe for your hair today, we will tell you, and we will show you the route that gets you there.

Lightening

Balayage, foils & blonde

Every lightening service includes a tone consultation and a complimentary dry-off, so you are not walking out with wet hair. A full blow dry and style is a separate service you can add when you book. Your colourist will also recommend a bond treatment to run through the service. We would put one through every head of lightening if we could, because it is the single biggest thing that protects your hair. Prices below are starting prices: hair length, density and the number of rounds of lightener needed all move the number, and your colourist confirms it with you before we mix.

Hand-painted balayage on long brunette hair with soft blonde ends, Circles of Hair Perth

From $280

Balayage

Best for: Lighter hair with no hard regrowth line, and the longest stretch between appointments.

Our colourists hand-paint lightener through the mid-lengths and ends so the colour grows out softly instead of banding at the root. You get a lived-in, sun-touched finish that still looks intentional at week 14. Toner is recommended at each visit to keep the tone where you want it.

Full head of foils creating bright even blonde highlights, Circles of Hair Perth

From $280

Foils: Full Head

Best for: Maximum brightness, even coverage from root to tip, or full dimension through a dark base.

Foils are placed through the entire head, top to underneath, for the brightest and most uniform result lightening can give. Ask for highlights to lift and brighten, lowlights to break up a flat colour and add depth, or both together for real dimension.

Half head of foils adding brightness through the top and sides of brunette hair

From $200

Foils: 1/2 Head

Best for: Refreshing brightness where it shows most, without the full-head price or the full-head time.

Foils are placed through the top and sides (the sections people actually see), leaving the underneath untouched. It is the smartest way to keep existing highlights looking fresh between full-head appointments.

Quarter head of foils creating a bright money piece around the face

From $150

Foils: 1/4 Head

Best for: A face frame or money piece: the biggest visual change for the smallest commitment.

A small number of foils placed around the hairline and part to brighten the face. It is the service to book if you want to test going lighter before committing, or you simply want your colour to look freshly done for an event.

All over blonde scalp lightening result on long hair at Circles of Hair Perth

From $185

Blonde Scalp Lightening

Best for: Established blondes who want a clean, uniform blonde right to the root.

Lightener is applied directly to the scalp area to lift your natural regrowth to match the blonde already through your lengths. This service is for hair that is already light. If you are starting from a natural or coloured base, your colourist will recommend foils or a staged plan instead.

Colour

Global colour, grey coverage & correction

Depth, richness and grey coverage. If you are unsure which of these you need, the difference is simple: global colour changes the shade, regrowth tint covers grey.

Rich all over global hair colour on long brunette hair, Circles of Hair Perth

From $170

Global Colour

Best for: One rich, even shade from root to tip: depth, shine and a clean finish.

A single tone applied through the whole head for consistent colour with no variation. It is the fastest route to glossy, expensive-looking depth. Note that global colour gives little to no grey coverage. If grey is your concern, a regrowth tint is the service you want.

Regrowth tint blending grey roots seamlessly into existing colour, Circles of Hair Perth

From $120

Regrowth Tint & Grey Coverage

Best for: Full, natural-looking grey coverage on a 4–6 week cycle.

Your colourist matches tint to your existing colour and applies it through the regrowth only, so the join is invisible and your lengths are not re-processed every visit. Add a gloss to refresh tone through the ends without extra lift.

Rich copper red colour correction result on long hair, Circles of Hair Perth

Colour Correction

Best for: Box colour, banding, bad blondes, uneven tone, or a colour that simply is not you.

Corrections are the most technical work we do and no two are the same, which is why they are quoted after a consultation rather than off a price list. Bring photos and your full colour history. You will leave the consultation with a written plan: how many sessions, how far apart, and what it will cost.

Your appointment

What happens when you sit in the chair

No guesswork and no surprise pricing. Here is exactly how a colour appointment at Circles runs.

01

Consultation

Your colourist looks at your hair in natural light, asks about your colour history and lifestyle, and agrees the exact result and the exact price with you before anything is mixed.

02

Bond treatment

Your colourist recommends a bond treatment matched to your hair and mixes it into the lightener or colour, so bonds are rebuilt as they break rather than repaired weeks later.

03

Application

Foils, hand-painting or scalp application, depending on the service. Coffee, wine and wifi. Settle in.

04

Toner & treatment

We tone to the shade agreed at consultation, then finish with a treatment matched to your hair’s condition.

05

Dry-off & plan

A complimentary dry-off (not a full blow dry, but you will not leave soaking wet), a rundown of exactly which products keep this colour looking like this at home, and your next appointment booked before you leave. Want it properly finished for the rest of the day? Add a blow dry and style when you book.

I had the delight of having my hair done by Montana recently, she took my inspo and created an outcome I was absolutely over the moon about and even better than I imagined! Looking forward to my next appointment already! 💖

I had to wait a little for my booked appointment, but the end result was amazing. I felt the team was under the pump and times it did feel I was passed around during my wash, with 3 seperate people being involved. However I have booked again and my colour looks fantastic.

I have really frizzy hair and I did the Qiqi treatment, which was done by the amazing Montana! Shout out to Carissa as well, you both are so amazing and great at what you do! Thank you for making my hair so shiny, sleek and frizz free

Had an amazing first experience. Have never been so relaxed in my whole life than when getting a head massage during my treatment(I can’t remember the name of the girl who did this but she was brilliant!!) Caitlin was amazing at explaining what she was doing and what she had in mind for my hair as I came with no idea what I wanted. She recommended some great products after I told her about what my struggles have been with my hair

Before you book

Hair colour questions, answered honestly

How much does balayage cost in Perth?

At Circles, balayage starts from $280. Your final price depends on hair length and density, how many rounds of lightener your hair needs to reach the tone you want, and whether you add a toner or gloss (toner is charged on grams used). Your colourist confirms the full price with you at consultation, before any product is mixed, so you will never be surprised at the counter.

Will lightening damage my hair?

Any lightening service changes the hair’s structure, so the honest answer is that technique and aftercare decide the outcome. We assess your hair’s condition and colour history before we start, and we build bond your colourist will recommend a bond treatment to run through the service, chosen for your hair: it rebuilds bonds as the lightener breaks them. If your hair is not in a condition to take the lift you are asking for safely, your colourist will tell you and map out a staged plan instead.

Do I need a patch test before a colour appointment?

Yes, if you are new to colour with us or you have not had colour in the last six months. A patch test takes two minutes and must be done at least 48 hours before your appointment. Book it in when you book your colour, or drop into either salon.

How long will my appointment take?

Regrowth tint runs about 1.5–2 hours. Half head foils 2–2.5 hours. Balayage and full head foils run 3–4 hours including toner. Colour corrections are booked as half or full days. If you have a hard finish time, tell us when you book and we will schedule accordingly.

Do you blow dry my hair after my colour?

We include a complimentary dry-off, so you never leave with soaking wet hair, but that is not the same as a finished blow dry. A full blow dry and style is a separate service you add when you book, and it is the one to add if you are going somewhere afterwards or you want to see the colour the way it will actually sit. Tell us at booking rather than on the day, so your stylist has the time set aside for it.

Can I go from dark to blonde in one appointment?

Sometimes, but not always, and not safely for everyone. If you have box colour, henna or years of build-up, getting to a clean blonde usually takes two or three sessions spaced weeks apart. We would rather give you beautiful hair over three visits than compromised hair in one. Book a colour consultation (redeemable against your service or products) and we will map the journey, the timeline and the total cost.

How often do I need to come back?

Balayage is the lowest-maintenance option: most clients stretch it to 12–16 weeks because there is no hard regrowth line. Foils sit around 8–12 weeks. Regrowth tint and grey coverage is usually 4–6 weeks. A gloss or toner between visits keeps tone fresh without a full service.

What is a toner and why is it a separate charge?

Toner is what turns raw lightened hair into the shade you actually asked for. It kills brass, adds shine and sets the tone. It is priced on the grams used because a short bob and hair past the waist do not use the same amount. Your colourist will recommend one and quote it before applying.

Do you fix colour that has gone wrong elsewhere?

Yes. Colour correction is priced on consultation because no two corrections are the same. Bring photos of where you are now and where you want to be, and be ready to talk through everything that has been on your hair, including box colour. We will give you an honest plan, a realistic number of sessions and a price before we begin.
